Expanded Mobile Analytics Added to SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey is one of the most popular online tools for creating and sending out surveys.  As marketers, surveys can provide an invaluable wealth of information about your customers, target audience or others.  According to a recent announcement, SurveyMonkey is dramatically improving their mobile analytics information  for both their free and premium users.

The new system that adds these features is called, “SurveyMonkey Intelligence” and will use advanced data collection techniques for mobile device owners.  This data will be gathered using an app downloaded that transmits mobile usage stats anonymously.  Those who use the app will be given access to the data as an incentive, and may be able to gain access to other perks such as access to a virtual private network or something similar.

The move is made possible because of an acquisition SurveyMonkey made last year.  They bought out Renzu, which was co-founded by a former Zynga executive.  It creates mobile panels which are used to gather information about a wide range of mobile activities.

The information that will be available from this service will help provide insights into things like user retention data, leaderboards, user base overlap, app affinity, the typical revenue per user and much more.  Using this data, marketers will be able to make better informed decisions regarding who to target and how they can best be reached.
