Everyone knows that the various types of ad fraud are a major problem for the digital marketing community. Whether it is counterfeit ads, ads that lead to malware infected sites, or misleading advertisements, it is something that needs to be taken seriously. Every time a bad ad is displayed it makes the rest of the industry look bad.
Not surprisingly, one of the biggest companies that is leading the fight against ad fraud is Google’s AdWords program. Of course, they are doing it largely for selfish reasons since they are also a huge ad network, but regardless of their motivation, they do a great job. They have just released a new report titled, “Fighting Bad Advertising Practices on the Web – 2014 Year in Review” that goes into some detail about what they have been doing to help combat problems with digital advertising.
You can look through the infographic that they created and released, which goes through a number of the most significant areas where they have made progress throughout the past year. This will not only help to understand just how much Google AdWords is doing, but it can also give you a heads up about some of the more common problems that need to be watched out for.
Here is the infographic:
While the battle against bad advertising will never be over, it is important to recognize just how much is being done. You can see the full report from Google AdWords HERE.
