Instagram Stories now boasts a daily audience of 250 million hits, which is quite impressive. To help encourage further growth, the social media company is introducing the option for live Story replays, which can be activated for up to 24 hours after the original broadcast.
Live broadcasts were previously only available while the person was streaming. Now, those who stream their Stories will have the option to make their Stories available to watch for the next 24 hours. Any likes or comments that are made while the video is live will also show up on the replay as if they were coming in during the replay.
Those who are watching the Story as a replay will be able to fast-forward or rewind in 15 second increments too, which can make it more convenient. It is not entirely clear why the replays will be limited to just 24 hours after the post. Stories are generally what is happening ‘now’ so if they are allowing a replay, they should consider just letting people post it for as long as they want. Perhaps that will come in the future.
