Google+ Hangouts On Air Being Shutdown

The live video streaming service, Google+ Hangouts On Air, are officially being shut down as of September 12th.

This is something that most people have been expecting since earlier this year, but Google gave a final warning about the move, and what people who still want to be able to use live streaming services.

Of course, Google recommends they move to YouTube Live since YouTube is owned by Google.

They also provided information on how users can easily move all their live streaming activities over to YouTube quickly and easily.

With more and more people using video for a wide range of different digital activities, Google+ was likely hoping to maintain relevance with this program.  Facebook’s live streaming services quickly became far more popular, which was essentially the nail in the coffin for this service.

Another thing that may have given it trouble is the fact that YouTube was also offering live streaming options, which made this Google+ service somewhat redundant.

For those who do use live streaming options, both YouTube and Facebook offer easy to use and popular options.  Many even use both services to reach the largest possible audience.
