Is ClearCoin the Future of Ad Fraud Prevention?

Ad fraud is one of the biggest issues that the marketing industry is facing today. With brands losing billions of dollars to bots, malware, and other issues, it is something that really needs to be taken seriously. Despite this, many ad networks have continued to try to take the ‘business as usual’ route, and seem to hope that brands will just accept the estimated 20% loss to fraud as acceptable.

One company, however, is working on a practical option that may help to dramatically reduce all types of ad fraud. ClearCoin is looking to use blockchain (yes, the tech that is responsible for BitCoin and the whole crypto revolution) to solve the issue.

While still fairly early in their efforts, they hope to use the immutable database to provide a clear history of what happens with all ad investments. Their global ad platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-20) and they are also working with the Hyperledger from the Linux Foundation to track ad impressions.

All ad formats will be available on their system, and be tracked using the proof of history ledger. This will give advertisers and publishers the ability to accurately track ad performance, authenticity, and results across a wide range of sites and networks.

This is just one company with a blockchain based solution to ad fraud that is looking to take on the challenge in 2018. It seems that startup companies are tired of giving the traditional ad networks a pass on the fraud issue, and are looking to step in and deal with it directly.
