IAB has released their new Digital Adspend Report, which goes over all the latest information about the online marketing industry. This report contains quite a bit of information that marketers need to be aware of in order to plan their future efforts. Interesting Stats
Some of the most important and interesting stats from the report are as follows:
- Mobile – Mobile ads now make up 43% of all digital advertisements. This is a growth of 38% from last year.
- Mobile Display – For display ads, mobile now makes up 57% of ad spend.
- Video – Mobile now makes up 70% of all video spend for digital advertising. Video is also the fastest-growing segment, making up 35% of all the digital ad growth.
- Social – Mobile makes up 83% of all social ad spend.
Display ads grew at a rate of 18%, which brings the total amount invested to $2.6 billion. Search marketing grew at 15%, still edging out display by generating $3.7 billion. Throughout the industry there is continued growth. This is despite the fact that many people have predicted a slowdown in this industry due to worries related to ad blockers, fraud, and other issues.
One of the most significant, though largely symbolic, things in the report is that video ads have now overtaken banner ads in terms of total ad spend. Video is now the second most popular option, behind search ads.
Overall the report presents the current and future status of the digital advertising industry in a very positive light.
