New Survey Shows Small Businesses are Expanding Social Media Marketing

Results from a survey performed by GetResponse have been released. The survey looked at a variety of marketing topics and how small businesses will be investing in the future. They asked 200 small businesses questions to get a better understanding of where marketing budgets would be going.

The two areas where more than half of businesses said they would be expanding their budgets were social media (59.2%) and mobile marketing (50%). Email marketing also had positive numbers with 42.3% of businesses saying they would be growing their budgets.

The other digital marketing areas came in as follows:

  • Video Production – 28.2% of respondents plan to expand in this area
  • Content Creation – 26.1%
  • Data Collection & Analytics – 23.2%
  • Corporate Website Maintenance – 22.8%
  • Commerce Experiences – 15.5%

Overall these results are positive as they show an across the board focus on digital marketing.

This is a fairly small survey with just 200 respondents, but the results do line up with what most people in the industry expect to see.
