Tag, or the Trustworthy Accountability Group, has released their first list of companies that meet their stringent anti-fraud standards. This certification is one of several steps that the group is taking to try to combat fraud throughout the industry, which is a huge problem, causing an estimated $7.2 billion in 2016.
The companies that got approval to display the “Certified Against Fraud” seal are: Amobee, ComScore, DoubleVerify, Dstillery, Google, Horizon Media, Integral Ad Science, Moat, Omnicom Group, OpenX, ProData Media, Rocket Fuel, Sovrn, Interpublic Group, WhiteOps, and WPP’s GroupM.
Mike Zaneis, CEO of TAG, commented on this saying, “When future business leaders look back on the forgotten scourge of digital ad fraud, they will point to the leadership of companies like these in helping set a new anti-fraud standard that raised the bar for our industry.”
To get the certification, companies must pass the requirements from TAG, and be committed to fighting fraud in their area of the digital advertising industry. In addition, they need to pay TAG at least $20,000 per year. This money is not a ‘buy off’ to get on the list, but is to fund TAG’s efforts going forward.
