Mobile Apps Popular Among Advertisers

The mobile-app market continues to grow, generating an estimated $6 billion being spent on marketing campaigns in 2016. With the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store offering more than 2 million apps each available for download, app developers are focused on  claiming prime screen real estate on mobile devices.

Initially, ads to download apps was a space that was dominated by the mobile gaming market. This is changing, as mobile application makers are realizing the value of having an app on a consumer’s mobile device.

Sensor Tower, a research firm that tracks marketing campaigns on mobile devices, did a study that looked at app activity from “millions of mobile users around the globe.” From their research, they found that during third quarter this year, Instagram has the largest indexed impressions on Facebook. Facebook, coincidentally, also owns Instagram.

The research also showed that Google was the top mobile ad advertiser on Google services during the third quarter. Google owned apps that put Google at the top of that list are Google Maps, Google, YouTube Music, and YouTube.
