‘PingCube’ to Revolutionize Mobile?

PingMobile, a full-service mobile marketing agency, has recently announced a proprietary new platform that they believe will revolutionize the way people use their mobile devices, as well as the way mobile advertising and marketing is done. The platform, named PingCube, is a 3D mobile unit that displays interactive content on each side of a six-sided cube. The idea is that since mobile screens are significantly smaller than PCs, the six sides of the cube will increase the amount of data that can be passed along to the user.

The PingCube is easily manipulated with a simple swipe so users can interact with the side of the cube that they want, and then quickly change. The panes of the cube can have any type of content on them, including landing pages, full web sites, videos, forms, commerce pages, click-to-call widgets and many others. What would previously have taken six separate pages, and the visitor being willing to browse to each of them, will require just the one PingCube with this new platform.

The PingCube, developed in the extremely flexible HTML5, is still in beta testing has been shown to dramatically improve conversion rates. The click-through rates on the tests that were run nearly doubled with simple display ads that included simulated PingCubes. Post-click ad engagement went up by between 2 and 5 times the rates of normal mobile landing pages.

Isaac Naor, the Ping Mobile SVP and CTO, said “We were thrilled, although not surprised, by the results, but the clients we beta tested with couldn’t believe the difference (in results). Based on this preliminary testing, several of Ping Mobile’s Fortune 1000 clients plant to launch PingCube units within the next month.”

In addition to allowing for easier interaction with a variety of things on a mobile page, the PingCube can be saved to mobile desktops with a single click. When done, a branded icon goes to the users home screen, where they can quickly pull it up again. This provides brands with most of the benefits of a full app, with none of the development expenses. Using the powerful HTML5 coding, the panes can be updated anytime, to ensure customers are getting the exact information marketers want.

Naor commented that, “The power of PingCube is in its intuitive simplicity and ability to give choice back to the user. Aggregating multiple social channels into one engaging unit enables users to consume an advertiser’s content in the format they want – be it a Facebook page, a video or even an app download – while allowing brands to spend their advertising dollars effectively, fusing multiple digital and social channels into one tool and directing users to it. This approach is unconventional yet intuitive, increasing user engagement and conversions for brands.”
