Google Launches Adsense WordPress Plugin

Google has just released a new plugin for WordPress that will allow for simple management of AdSense, as well as Webmaster Tools. This release is still in beta, so there may be some issues, and additional functionality is undoubtedly going to be added in the future.

Google said of the release, “We’re still fine-tuning the plugin to make sure it works well on the many WordPress sites out there. We’d love for you to try it now and share your feedback on how it works for your site”

Despite it being an early release, however, this plugin makes it extremely simple to link a site to an AdSense account. There is no need for editing code or using a third party plugin for getting the AdSense ads to display properly. Once the plugin is installed and activated, you can quickly add in new AdSense ads by clicking on a simple ‘+’ button, which show up in an overlay on the site when managing the ads.

The plus buttons are located in all the most common locations, including the heading, in the side bars, above the content, within the content and many others. While there are many other AdSense management plugins out there, this one will very likely become the standard that people use because of the fact that it is by Google. In addition, it seems like it will be extremely simple to setup and manage.

AdSense is the largest and most popular ad programs out there, and it is used by millions of marketers. Even affiliate marketers often use AdSense as an additional income stream from their sites, so this will undoubtedly be a very popular plugin that is welcomed by many.

Adding Webmaster Tools support to a site is also extremely easy, and can be done with one quick click from the plugin. This is far easier than any other verification method out there today.

At this point, this plugin is only available to self-hosted WordPress sites, not those hosted on
