Cutting Edge Offers Closes

by Pace Lattin2012-11-28

Cutting Edge Offers, the CPA Network once known as the BizOpp Network, has announced their closing effective immediately.  This comes several months after the firing of several key employees who had been with the company for years, in some cases for over a decade. The company has faced great difficulty with the changes in the BizOpp space, making it harder to push legitimate offers. Additionally, just this past year, their CEO Peter Wilson stepped down, leaving a gap in leadership.

Their parent company, Cutting Edge Media is over 20 years old, and has been a major part of the online and offline lead generation industry, and helped create the lead generation business as we know it. Their founder Phil Longenecker, died in an unfortunate car crash in 2009.

The official release from Cutting Edge Offers follows:

We regret to inform you that Cutting Edge offers, a division of Cutting Edge Media Inc. , will be closing its affiliate network effective immediately. This is not an easy decision for us. We have been in the performance marketing industry since its inception and our proud of our years of service.

The environment of the marketplace has changed considerably over the past two years, and as many other networks have learned, remaining profitable has become more and more challenging.

We are very appreciative of our many loyal employees and customers and this decision is in no way a reflection of them.

Today’s announcement reflects Cutting Edge Media’s commitment to focus our resources on the remaining parts of our business.

This truly makes me sad, they were one of the good guys in the industry. All the best to everyone there in their future endeavors.

If I can be of any help in any way – please do not hesitate to reach out.

This makes me so very sad. I worked with them for as long as I can remember. Every single person there was great to work with.

  • 2012-11-28 at 14:15

Great company. Nothing but good things to say about Cutting Edge and the staff over there.

  • 2012-11-28 at 14:46

Agreed. I have worked with them for years. Nothing but first class. There have been others that shut down with dubious distinction, but CE was always been easy and fair to work with. My list of trusted partners just became one company smaller.

Was a pleasure to work with them

With all the guns pointed at Biz Opps, it is no surprise. They were good people to work with. They will be missed.

  • 2012-11-28 at 15:53

We are sorry to see you go Cutting Edge Offers. If I/we could be of any help, don’t hesitate to reach out. From a business standpoint – a great company to be a part of. So many good companies are being forced to shut their doors lately.

This is too bad. We worked with them for a while and really appreciated the people we worked with there.

I wish them all success. It’s just an example of how companies have to be able to adjust and evolve in order to keep going.

This is really unfortunate as they have always been a great group of people to work with. They had a lot more integrity and class than many companies in our industry. You never want to see a trusted and well respected company go through something like this. I wish their entire team the best of luck, and hope I get the chance to work with many of them again in the future.

And CPAWAY just laid off all of their staff are they next????

    • 2012-11-29 at 10:50

“Truth” — Thanks for posting laid off vs terminating for not performing their job and following company policy are two different things. Being I am pretty confident I know who posted this, before spreading rumors, feel free to stop by the office to discuss the banter you recently heard locally. Perhaps you’d like to setup a meeting? I am available all week and all next week.

      • 2012-11-29 at 10:51

P.s. a few terminations does not constitute our entire staff nor make up such.

I mean no disrespect toward you nor your network, I am glad to hear CPAWAY is still a very strong network and I hope it stays that way for years to come.

We have worked with Cutting Edge for years. — It is sincerely sad to see them close down their Network.

If you asked me a few months ago, I would tell you that Cutting Edge Offers was the absolute best affiliate network. They had high-converting bizopps and their AM’s were very helpful and responsive.

Then my AM up and disappeared out of the blue. I had a late payment. I heard the same rumblings and rumors about them having trouble over there, so I contacted them. I was assured everything was fine and they even pushed more offers at me!

I’m glad I stepped away and stopped promoting their offers, so I cut my losses before they got any larger.

I hope a lot of other affiliates weren’t hung out to dry.

    OMG !!

C.E.O was one of the best and reputed networks !!

CPAtank went down a few days back, Now CE is down!! Whats happening ??

These networks are going down because the advertisers are stiffing them. That is why any affiliate program goes down.

Another one bites the dust. This just means more $$$ for the affiliates and networks that have outlasted all the rest.

  • 2012-11-30 at 11:50

    Very sad to see this.

  • 2012-11-30 at 12:02

Great people and company to work with , Makes me sad ….

  • 2012-11-30 at 12:18

Quality traffic. Fraud protection. Proper billing. Not giving credit to unscrupulous advertisers. Government restrictions. There’s a number a reasons these companies are going out of business. The industry isn’t changing, its changed. Quality advertisers that get results driven performance leads are going to always be around. Faster/quick buck offers that aren’t providing value to the consumers aren’t long for this world. I wish all of the people from Cutting Edge and all the networks that have struggled well. CPADNA is hiring so if there’s quality people out there that need a home please reach out to us.

Yes it is very sad to see this happen to CEM. They were a good company and we just started working with them.

  • 2012-11-30 at 13:31

Maybe they should have invested in fraud protection, such as ?

  • 2012-12-01 at 15:49

There has been a lot of shake ups in the Biz Opp industry this last year. We have had to update several of our offers but we have them converting well. Let me know if you need a home for your traffic. Charles 303-506-7132

Cutting Edge Offers had a lack of leadership ever since Phil Longennecker, the previous CEO died.

Peter Wilson was NOT a leader… He didn’t do jack shit…

Peter Wilson was more worried about fixing light bulbs in the office than implementing any real business strategies.

This guy was a complete joke and a fraud.

Then when Cutting Edge Media fired him, they allowed him to save face by saying he “stepped down.”

    What a joke.

I guess what makes a network good are the quality of people, accounts payable etc. I have never had an issue with CE until they closed. Those quality people are no longer there. I don’t think they have paid anybody for November, but I could be wrong. We were certainly not paid after multiple phone calls, multiple invoices, certified mail etc. We will probably just write that off as it isn’t a large amount. I won’t hesitate to reach and do some business with some of the former employees of CE. If you are going to close down, pay your bills at least and CE hasn’t.

What's your opinion?
